Update

After the last post and the round of Panastat, the bumps went away and didn’t bother me anymore (not even while in hot and humid Colombia!).

Your blog is the 1st I’ve seen that was actually accurate and properly logged for having this nightmare of a problem that I have ever seen. I’ve had de on my feet for the last 22 years. During that span I have had maybe 5 or 6 of the blisters show up on the inside of a finger or on a knuckle. Never anymore. For about the last 10 months, I’ve had such a problem on both of my feet that now after the scaling it seems there’s no longer blisters but just gigantic pools underneath the dry skin that are everywhere. It started with just scaling from a blister or a cluster of blisters that I’d drain myself (because when 1 would pop up and give me the hell bent fire burn itch that they do, I’d cause a break and force it clear as much as possible then that would be it, until a month or so later that they’d come back, if I didn’t manually drain, they’d seem to “deflate” and then be red and inflamed and have extreme pain when touched, and that was all the management I’ve done for 21 years) and then it would literally feel like i could feel there was a bed of liquid nightmare for a good span of my foot (sides, heel, and occasionally a spot on bottom of foot) and then the scaling started leaving large areas of dry skin( i guess) that originally i thought was due to new shoes and in soles and 55 to 60 hour work weeks on my feet, that turned out to me finally having to start putting lotion on my feet after nightly shower and before work in the morning. (Had never had to do this before) That quickly progressed within about 2 months to applying lotion then applying petroleum jelly before work and of course changing shoes and types of socks etc. For the last 8 months its gotten so bad my heels anf inside of each foot seem to.have an eighth of an inch thick dry dead skin on them, then it peels off (probably less then a sixteenth of inch thick in actuality but so thick it seems and feels like eighth) and when peeled off there is nothing but a up to two inch in diameter smallest maybe a quarter inch spot of blister excretion and it just runs for minutes then seems to just do the slow fill up and aggitated pour out over time that all my regulare de blisters had done. Within the last 10 months I have also had 5 (the total Ive had over 22 years) de blisters on my fingers, all ridiculously gigantic and have scaled so bad afterward that my skin on my fingers where they were is forever going to be different. I have started taking photos since its progressed so bad. I guess my point/main question for you is, if I were to say my foot is a map of north america, and i run my finger over all of its flat paper (my skin), i hit large areas that i can tell are “pools” of de liquid that would be blisters but are so big now they feel like the size of the biggest lakes on the map of north america (like the great lakes) and also feel like theres rivers leading and leaving them, so do you ever feel that metaphor, on your feet or hands, or for you is it like its been for 21 years of my life, where its just a blister or cluster of them that feels like a mosquito bite???

      Hi Joe,
Not sure if this answers your question but yes, I had larger blisters as well. It seemed to be like multiple of the smaller blisters merged into one.
I haven’t written any more posts or updates because I haven’t had another break out yet.
I do get the odd tiny blister on my hands, but they don’t itch or ooze liquid.

I hope you find a solution soon!

Thanks for this wealth of info! I have had this cover both palms. When blisters began to open, usually after scratching in my sleep, I used NexCare Waterproof Clear Knee & Elbow bandages with a thin layer of Neosporin just to cover sores. These bandages work better than any other I found, including gloves or gauze and tape. I used this during martial arts, washing dishes, shopping… Anyhow, the sores cleared up much faster with no infection and I didn’t have much cracking after bandage removal either, my skin was much more soft.

Hi Raf, hope all is well. I think we have the same condition. My house before has a fungus/mold problem.

Just wanted to ask you if how did they get a mycotic test?
    Is it a blood test?

    Thank you.

Hi Jansen, I pleaded to a dermatologist who refused at first but then agreed “just to prove that I had no fungus”. He wrote me a prescription which I then took to a lab that specialised in that (recommended by the dermatologist). Turns out I had athletes foot. As soon as I got rid of athlete’s foot (oral meds I mentioned on some of my posts), my dyshidrosis went into remission and then subsided. Now whenever I feel my feet or hand start to itch (maybe once every couple of years, because I go to a public swimming pool), I buy this little over the counter tube of an anti fungal gel you put the whole tube contents on feet and hands and leave it on for the day. It’s really effective (I live in France, so not sure if this is available elsewhere). Never had DE again up to now.
